There is a range of funding available for community heritage projects and the Heritage Lottery Fund is one of the largest funders.
Heritage Lottery Fund can provide funding to help groups, communities and organisations mark the Centenary by exploring, conserving and sharing the heritage of the First World War, from memorials, buildings and sites, to photographs, letters and literature. The grants they offer range from £3,000 – £10,000, £10,000 – £100,000 and £100,000 upwards.
In addition to their general grant programmes, the HLF also provides a specific funding stream for First World War projects (£3,000 – £10,000) called First World War: then and now. This provides grants for communities to mark the Centenary of the First World War.
