Malmesbury and villages Great War project – open meeting

Open Meeting – 5th June – 7:30pm
Malmesbury Hub, Malmesbury Town Hall

Malmesbury and Villages Great War Project are holding an open meeting for individuals and groups interested in commemorating the centenary of the great war. Come along and talk about what you are doing or would like to do. Hear about what others are doing. Is there an opportunity to work together or help each other? Do dates clash? How do we get the message about what you’re doing out to the public? How do we make events relevant to people living in Malmesbury and the villages?

I was hoping to join this meeting but was not home in time. Are any notes being produced from the meeting which I could be sent?

Also are there any plans for further meetings or other ways in which I can become involved?

    Hello Anne

I know the Malmesbury and Villages Great War Project follow this blog so hopefully they will see your message and be able to let you have the notes of the meeting and any follow up dates.

As well as getting involved in the local Malmesbury project the parish might also like to consider coming along to the county commemoration event being held in Tidworth on the 30th July. Details can be found at

The Athelstan Museum and other museums across the county are also about to start a lottery funded project to uncover and share stories of the impact of the First World War on Wiltshire communities. Keep an eye on the Heritage in Wiltshire blog for opportunities for Charlton to get involved
