Salisbury and the Great War

Salisbury Museum’s autumn exhibition will mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. The interactive and engaging exhibition will chart the immediate and lasting impact of the Great War on Salisbury and the surrounding communities as well as the wider landscape of Salisbury Plain.

The exhibition will explore the county’s role in supporting the home front as well as the battles at the front line. Using letters, photographs, medals and other personal mementos loaned by the public, the exhibition will tell the story of Wiltshire’s war through Wiltshire’s people.

As well as the exhibition there will be a programme of family focused activities, for more information please visit the Museum’s website.
