WW1 Living Room appears in Corsham High St

As part of its contribution to the “Corsham Commemorates” project, Corsham Area Heritage has set up a replica of a typical Living Room, as it would have appeared at the time of WW1, in the Pictor Room of Arnold House at 31 High Street, Corsham, SN13 0EZ. It includes two fireside chairs, a kitchen table (complete with various items appropriate to the time) and other furniture and domestic bits and pieces. A copy of a suitably-dated newspaper lies casually on the table, while display boards provide other relevant information. Why not drop in and see it? It won’t cost you a penny – or even a ‘d’! Our team would be delighted to show you round.
The WW1 Living Room exhibition will run throughout the month of August.
Arnold House is the home of the Corsham Tourist Information Centre and the Made in Corsham shop. It is staffed by volunteers and is presently open Tue-Sat, 10am – 4pm, and Wed, 10am – 1pm.
